They weren’t kidding!

Here in Gulf Coast Texas you have to wonder when the say “Cold Front” if it is a real cold front or if it is what they are “calling” a cold front. They said we’d have a cold front here this week. You never believe it until you feel it. Well Monday, we had hit our HI TEMP here at 6:30AM. Yes, you read that right. . . we were as hot as we were going to get at 6:30AM. Then the rain hit. It wasn’t even bad rain. It wasn’t miserable at all. Then the temperature started to drop! We got down to 49F Monday night. *jumping up and down* We didn’t get over 69F yesterday I believe. *happy dance* Last night we got down to 45F. Today we’re not supposed to break 75F. Happy day!

Too bad this wonderful and beautiful weather is accompanied by my fever, sore throat, stuffy head, and today RUNNY nose. It isn’t fair! I didn’t even make it back to the grocery store yesterday because I didn’t feel too hot. I started running the fever yesterday. I don’t think it is a sinus infection, but we’ll have to watch it. I do think that it is just the respiratory bug that is going around. It is hanging on in Lance. Kyle has it. Andrew says he’s getting the cough. Fortunately, it doesn’t appear to be too bad in me yet. Although, I am running the fever and the others did not.

As for grocery shopping. I am still doing The Grocery Game. I shared a grocery trip with my mother on Monday. Maybe I can make that a repeat event. *shrug* I don’t know. I am on my 2nd week where I am under budget. I still had things I could have gotten to get me to the budget, but I just didn’t go back out to get the deals. That’s OK. We have food to eat. There is more food in the pantry, cupboards, fridges, and freezer than before. We can eat and it doesn’t appear to make an impact in the freezer arena. It is nice. Hopefully, this week I won’t have to go back out for anything else like I did last week. I’ve got the important stuff. Milk, cheese, bread, meat, garbage bags, kleenex, paper towels, toilet paper, dishwasher detergent, dish soap, laundry detergent, general cleaners, cereal, water, etc. So I should be good. Does that mean I get to spend the $25 next week? Probably not. That’s OK though, I am enjoying the comfort still the same.

It is official, I will be out shopping the day after Thanksgiving. Yep, bright and early! I can’t wait to start seeing some of the Black Friday Ads. There are a couple floating around out there already. Linn and I are certifiably nuts. Hey we get a LOT of shopping that day sans kids. What could be better?

My brother will be home in roughly 29 days. Yay! The kids are starting to get excited. Hopefully, I’ll be motivated to get his pictures and memories of the Czech Republic scrapped. I was supposed to be doing it all along these past 2 years. I haven’t. I just wasn’t sure where to start. *sigh* Oh well, he’ll be home and we can do it when he gets home.

  1. If you go to Dealtaker.com, we’ve already got 5 or 6 Black Friday ads out there, including Sears, Ace Hardware, Tommy Hilfiger, Harbor Freight and Macy’s.

Check it out, and if you like what you see, I’d love it if you’d give us a mention!
