A little rest for the weary

For the first time in 3 days the washing machine has stopped. That is progress, right?

I will be honest with you, it is not done doing what it does, I still have a mound of laundry out in the garage. The mountain of laundry that I had piled up in the laundry room got moved to the garage. It is mostly the extra blankets and sheets and stuff that we were not going to be using immediately. They were a lower priority than an overflowing basket of kids’ clothing.

So Lance’s and Kyle’s laundry is done and it has been put away. Well Lance’s has been put away. Kyle I am not so sure about the status of his laundry. He was told to fetch his overflowing basket of clean laundry from the garage and was reminded that “just because we do not have a photographer coming tomorrow, it did not mean that his laundry could end up all over his bedroom floor.” That was hopefully enough to get him to actually spend the few minutes that it would take to put his laundry away in their appropriate locations.

I need to go put the remaining load from the washer to the dryer. These are towels that I pulled out of all the bathrooms today before the photographer arrived.

I even managed to wash a load of Ben and my laundry today. That is a lot of laundry.

Tomorrow I will start the mound of extra blankets and sheets and get them folded and put back in the linen closets. No need to have them in a mound on the garage floor for much longer.

It just felt good to be able to cook a real meal for the kids tonight. To sit down and eat a real meal. Now to plan out meals for the rest of the week. I need quick and easy things that do not require a lot of work or make a huge mess.

Tonight it just felt good to be able to sit down and not worry about the continuously growing list of things I need to get done.

On the schedule for tomorrow…cleaning the oven and microwave.
