I have always taken a good liking to quotes from this individual because his name was the name on the side of my high school alma matter. That aside, however, he often has an uplifting inspiration to his words. I just found this quote and thought I would share.
“Leadership is the art of getting someone to do something you want done because he wants to do it.”

This is truly what I needed to read today. Now it does not answer the deeper question of how do we get people to “want to do it” but it does define what leadership is. True success in leadership is defined by how well the others around you do the things that need to be done, not because they have been asked to but because they need to be done and they honestly want to do them. Ultimately this attitude and desire leads to far better results in the end.
