Two gallons of watered down gatorade

So the kids were more than willing to go outside at 2:30-3:00 PM. Yes, even in the dreadful heat we have had the last few days. Outside! Oh yeah, peace and quite. Of course one child came in looking hot. The second child came in looking for hot and retrieved a few bottled waters for everyone. Good move on Kyle’s part. Never mind that it is 97˚F out there right now, feeling like 100˚F. We’d consider this a cold front compared to the last couple of days.

I decided it was time to take action – crack into that water storage and get it rotating. I wandered to the pantry where I have about 15 gallons of water stashed. Shhhh, don’t tell anyone the secret to hiding it. I thought I’d make lemonade or something. The lemonade mix had other ideas with its rock hard state. I had a can of Gatorade mix there and we cracked it open. I cracked open 2 bottles of water (1 gallon each) and mixed orange Gatorade at 3/4 strength.

A large bowl of ice, 6 plastic cups, and escorting everyone back outside later…liquid refreshment and peace and quite maintained.
