So I made “pizza bake” tonight for dinner. I like it for several reasons.
• It is quick and easy. You can make your on biscuits or used canned biscuits. Easy!
• Tonight I browned some Italian sausage to finish making the lasagnas and used what was left of it in the pizza bake which I’ve never done before – pepperoni and Italian sausage pizza bake.
• You can use as much cheese as you want to. I prefer to use cheddar and an Italian cheese blend.
• Use the spaghetti sauce of your choice. I use whatever is handy.
Like I said, this is easy. You pour a little sauce in the bottom of a 13×9 pan, top with some cheese, some pepperoni slices (or sausage or ham or whatever), quarter some fridge biscuits (or drop homemade biscuit dough), then do another layer. Bake at the temperate recommended for the biscuits. Yummy!
The reason I like it most, however, is that it is sure to please everyone every time it is served. I have 1.5 servings left from a 13″x9″ pan! NICE!
Yesterday and today Kyle and I worked on his “seeds” poster he needed to do for class. It turned out very nicely. He needed 10 seeds, he had 11…the 10th and 11th were a comparison of a Texas Bluebonnet with a Texas Maroon Bluebonnet. There is actually a difference in the seeds. They are similar in size and shape, but they are different colors. Interesting. Anyway, if you have a child that needs to really work on lining things up, lots of stick on letters and a flat plastic ruler (I used my quilting ruler). Just take the letters and stick them about 1/4″ onto the edge of the ruler. You can then easily move them and adjust as needed without wasting the letters. Line the ruler up where you want the letters, press down the part of the letters that are sticking off the ruler, and then gently rotate the ruler upward and out from under the sticker letters. It made for quick and easy application of all those letters without all the frustration for both of us. He could line the letters up and get them fairly neat and evenly spaced. I could quickly and easily press them on the poster and he could press them down the rest of the way. He then drew bugs on this poster. It turned out very cute.
Today was fairly uneventful again. I see a trend forming here.
