Never made it to 3 strikes

So after the rain started today and the pollen has been washed from the sky and the sinus headache started to ease up, I pulled myself together and head back to Half Price Books to get the stuff we tried to get yesterday. At first they couldn’t find the stuff they were holding. Yes, I was a little irritated and a little insistent on them finding what they said they would hold for me 7 days…it had barely been 24 hours. Fortunately, they found it! They rang everything back up, deducted the gift certificates, I handed them the check I wrote yesterday…and everything went just fine this time! Yay!

When I got home, Lance couldn’t wait to get his Bob the Builder game and start playing on the computer. He also couldn’t wait to get his book out and the figures out of it to play with it…it isn’t a book so much as a “play set” book of sorts. It folds out to make these little rooms – garage, tire shop, etc. We got a doll house one like it for Katlynn’s birthday.

Lance, Kyle, Andrew, and I started playing Scene It, Jr. Lance decided that wasn’t much fun and off he went to go play his new computer game. I was sorely in last place. Sad, but true. I have decided that it isn’t so much where you are on the board so much as consistency. I WON! Ha!

I can see how this could be a fun game in the car on a long road trip. I got the travel version and it has nice magnetic pieces and is super compact. With our portable DVD players the kids will have a great time with it. Lance maybe more as he gets older. The game says for 8 and older. It was a little slow going, but it was a lot of fun as some things the kids knew that I didn’t know, other things they had no clue but *I* did. I have decided that I am not much into “Pop Culture.”

I love it!

If you are in the market for a 2 burner griddle…I have one to recommend as I am simply in love! You’re going to have to bite the bullet and just splurge and trust on this one…All Clad Grande Griddle…I used it again tonight to make the french toast and it was a reminder of just why I am grateful that my husband splurged on Christmas! On my last 2 burner griddle I could only get 6 slices of french toast, maybe 7 or 8 IF is really scrunched them up close together. Turning them was a total pain because it was so crowded and it would stick. It also wouldn’t cook evenly. I had 12, yes 12, slices of french toast on this baby and it cooked fairly evenly with NO sticking! Having seen it in action more than once, it is well worth the total splurge! I am in love!
