It is another day

It is another day. We’ve survived another week. Or have we? Barely, maybe? No we did OK this week. Daddy should be home tonight, so next week will be better. The kids were just missing daddy, I am sure.

Tomorrow the boys have a make-up piano lesson. Their teacher was out of town last week. They were behind on their theory for their lesson yesterday. Shame on them! I didn’t realize they weren’t doing it. They are getting better at practicing, but that is still a problem area. They aren’t fighting the fact that they have to practice so much. That is an improvement. They are not necessarily doing a full practice session. I wish they would get more of their heart into it. I can make them go through the motions, but out side of that hopefully seeing themselves improve will make them want to do it more.

Yesterday I ordered a cello – 1/2 sized cello for Andrew. They are starting October 1 with the 5th grade orchestra program. It is just strings. They got to select from violin, viola, cello, and bass. Andrew picked the cello. He looked so cute sitting behind it when they sized him on Monday night. They will have their strings class 2x a week for roughly an hour each. Their days are Monday and Thursday I believe. Andrew will need a ride to and from school those days. Oh the joys of sitting in the school’s pickup line. The place I ordered the cello from was completely out of 1/2 sized cellos, so they had to order us one. They said it takes roughly 2 weeks. That does not put it here in time for them to start class, but it will be there shortly thereafter. I have already called the instructor and let them know, told them to call me if there was a problem with it. If there aren’t any cellos available, there is nothing I can do about it. I haven’t heard back from him yet so I am assuming this isn’t going to be a problem.

The Art Institute Online called again today. I know they will continue to call me until I tell them not to. The guy was really pleasant to talk to. They always have been. I know they are supposed to get me to agree to go there. We just can’t afford it. It is way too expensive! It doesn’t mean that I wouldn’t like to, I just know we can’t afford it. It is insanely expensive. I would need a full-ride scholarship to make it a comfortable and reasonable decision to go at this point. For now I’ll just plug away at my community college degree and be happy with it. Maybe some time in my life it won’t be a pipe dream anymore. Today, however, reality is what it is.

I really need to make some sort of menu for this week. I have my grocery ads and need to figure out what we’re eating for the next week based on what is on sale. It appears that we’ll be having chicken at least as it is on sale again this week. It isn’t on sale as low as it was last week but getting back to the store last week was a challenge by itself! I then need to make my grocery list. I really do not enjoy going to the grocery store. It just costs too much. I got a trial of The Grocery Game and I am going to put my heart into trying that this week and see if it helps. We really need to stock up again and that is the underlaying concept behind the game. I know another friend who has been doing it for a few weeks and she’s seeing results. That is what I need. If anyone else is interested in trying it, put me email (sasansom at yahoo dot com) down as a referral! The trial is only $1 for 4 weeks of the game lists. We’ll see how I do this week. This means I need to change my grocery shopping day. I usually go on Friday or Saturday. They do not release the new lists until Saturday. This means I need to go later in the day on Saturday or wait until Monday. Either is an option. Monday, just isn’t as convenient.

Tomorrow is my mother’s birthday. I am not sure what I am going to get her. She has only told us 1 thing she wants. I will definitely get that. I just want to do more. LOL!

Anyway, I am off to finish working on my homework for my digital publishing class. We have a major team project due tonight. I hate group projects.
